Iran’s response to danish cartoons? blame the jews of course!

i find it funny and informative that iran’s response to danish cartoons depicting mohamed is to call for holocaust cartoons. this is one of the cleanest and most clear examples to date of anti-semetism by the arab world.  there is obviously no connection between jews or israel with danish newspaper cartoons.

a friend recently forwarded a list of links to existing anti-semetic arab cartoons…

As Islamic Fundamentalists riot over the cartoons in a Danish paper, it is interesting to take a look at some of the anti-semetic cartoons common in Arab media. This is by no means a definitive set of links, but it certainly gives a flavor of what cartoons many Arab newspapers print on a daily basis.

  1. Iranians are not arabs. And anti-semitism in an arab mouth is self-injuriating.
Too much confusion: religion and race, race and nation, nation and religion. I thought intelligent people after all these years were able to sort out this. Time to wake up kids! If you let the whole three mess altogether, this is the road for more hate and violence.

  2. you should go check out that muslim unity site. it HAS to be a satire/parody. it just can’t be true.

  3. The Other Side of the Cartoon Argument
Justifying one’s action by pointing out that someone else has done worse things is not logical.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions”. The intent of the cartoons is academic. A reasonable person would apologise if they have offended someone.
If one truly believes in freedom of speech then they should respect others who have a rule that says we do not allow anyone to say “whatever it is” in our country. It is not as if they don’t allow anyone to say anything at all.
Freedom of speech is not the same thing as having the freedom to offend people.

  4. Just for the record: arabs are semtitic, too. So, I doubt that there is any anti-semitism by the arab world.
Instead, arabs are anti-jewish. For obvious reasons.
